alec came to visit for a weekend in January because I was losing my fucking mind. we saw a sold out been stellar show at bowery ballroom and i got in a fight in the crowd. sky signed alec’s ass. we were out late.

Los Angeles, February 2025. Ryan Townley making resin collages in his house in Highland Park. I went there to shoot a Cons video and reconnect with someone, and I did both. It was good.

the only good bar in Los Angeles as far as I can tell is The Short Stop. $6 happy hour margaritas and good loud music. some claim that it is a cop bar, but i have never encountered any, and neither have the bartenders. mostly just dodgers fans.

new years eve. been catcher at gold sounds where i became too drunk and took mushrooms, but i only spent about $22, so that’s a win. then on to palmetto to see kitsu play for a half hour at 3 in the morning, then tv eye to see desi and steve and rob and lauren. some dude wouldn’t leave me alone and was trying to fuck me very aggressively - gold sounds go tv eye - so i left early. some girl spit in my hand as well. both uninvited. i didn’t like either of those things but the mushrooms took the edge off. i wasn’t mad about either in the moment but the next morning woke up very upset about both. good night though. good shows. i like my friends a lot.

saw joyce manor last night. i haven’t jumped around and screamed lyrics in a long time. i like being in crowds of people so moved by the music they love that they don’t mind looking stupid. i like looking stupid with them. the world needs more mosh pits.

the york is a bar in the east village that i go to very often. multiple times per week, usually during the day. it is a twenty minute train ride from my house but id rather take a train somewhere that i know i wont run into anyone and spend the day drinking and eating fries and writing and talking to conor than go to a bushwick-y spot and run into twenty people and have a panic attack each time wondering if what im saying is making any sense or if im being a dick or if this person is mad at me, talking about nothing that anyone really cares about but not knowing how to not do it.

one night i was drunk and alexa chung was having her fashion week after party there and i said something to her friend that was a bit dickish about how i hate the fashion world and find everyone cosplaying as working class to be very trite and repulsive- maybe the term antichrist was used, i was drunk i don’t know.

lovely day a couple of nights ago with the homies. lovely day is a bar in the basement of a thai restaurant in nolita. they play jazz on vinyl. if you go there on the weekend, you will hear good music, but the room is full of uninteresting fuckwits in puffer jackets and beanies with ugly flames on them and horny irony pouring out of their mouths like vapor. wednesday nights are good though.
